Dash Cam Installation Packages in San Diego
Frequently asked questions
How much does dash cam installation cost in San Diego?
It depends on the package. The Labor Package, installation only with a camera you already own, starts at $258. The Standard Package, with a premium camera, hardwire kit, microSD card and installation, starts at $742. The Safe Parking Package adds a dedicated battery pack for longer parked recording and starts at $1,064. These prices are for a sedan with our most popular 2-channel camera. Your price depends on your vehicle and the camera you choose. For a closer look at what drives the price, read our guide to dash cam installation costs in San Diego.
Which dash cam brands do you install?
We're an authorized Viofo, BlackVue and Thinkware installer, and we sell and install cameras from all three. Every camera we sell is genuine, bought directly from Viofo, BlackVue and Thinkware or through authorized retailers like BlackboxMyCar, so it comes with full manufacturer warranty. If you already own a dash cam from another brand, we can install it with the Labor Package.
Will this drain my car's battery?
No. Every install includes fuse circuit testing, so your camera is wired to a circuit that only has power when the car is on. It shuts off automatically with the vehicle.
Is it safe to hardwire a dash cam near the airbags?
Yes, when it's installed correctly. The front camera's power cable runs along the A-pillar, where the side curtain airbag is stored. We route and secure every cable clear of the airbag deployment zone, so nothing can get in the way if the airbag goes off. On 2- and 3-channel installs, the rear camera cable is hidden through the headliner and the B and C pillar trim with the same care. On SUVs and hatchbacks, it runs through the factory rubber grommet into the hatch, so it can't be pinched or bent when the hatch opens and closes.
Can I use the camera I already own?
Yes, that's the Labor Package. You provide your camera and the hardwire kit made for your camera model, and we handle the professional installation. Hardwire kit connectors differ between models, so check with the camera's manufacturer that you have the right one. Bring your own microSD card, or we can supply one.
How long does an install take?
Most installs take 1.5 to 2 hours.
Do I need to bring my car to a shop?
No. We come to you anywhere in San Diego County, including South Riverside County. If you're in Alpine, we can meet you in Escondido instead.
My dash cam has parking mode. Why would I need the Safe Parking Package?
Parking mode needs power while the car is off. Running it from your car's battery drains the battery you need to start the car, so we don't recommend it. The Safe Parking Package adds a dedicated battery pack that powers the camera for about 14–20 hours while parked, without touching your car's battery.
